3 Cobram Barooga Attractions Not to be Missed

Visit Our Website Visit Us on Facebook

Cobram (Victoria) and Barooga (NSW) are border towns located on either side of the Murray River. A short drive from Melbourne (3 hours), these twin towns are packed with exciting things to see and do. Bushwalking, camping, fishing, swimming and waterskiing are just some of the reasons visitors flock to the region, but there is plenty more on offer. In fact, it’s difficult to pick just 3 so watch this space for more blog posts about the fabulous Cobram Barooga area!

  1. Farm Gate Trail

We love food, so naturally we will have picked this as our favourite Cobram-Barooga activity! The Farm Gate Trail is a group of primary producers who offer visitors the opportunity to sample their products direct from the farm gate. The trail passes through Yarrawonga Mulwala, Cobram-Barooga, Barmah and Nathalia, offering everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to artisan chocolates. All stops on the Farm Gate Trail are working farms and offer a completely unique experience. You can spend a day, or take two or three, to sample all the delicious delights of the Murray region.

  2. Thompson’s Beach

This stunning inland beach is Australia’s largest. Only a few minutes drive from Cobram Barooga, this sandy paradise is  ideal for relaxing with a book or a game of beach cricket. There are free electric BBQ’S, a playground for the little ones and plenty of shade thanks to the magnificent red gums that surround the beach. Other popular activities at Thompson’s beach include swimming, walking, canoeing and fishing.

  3. Cobram Barooga Golf Club

Many of our guests book with us because we are less than 1km away from this fantastic golf course. Featuring 36 holes, guests can choose from either traditional or modern links. Cobram Barooga Golf Course is set in beautiful natural surroundings, with a fully serviced golf clubhouse and a highly rated pro shop. Sound good? Check out our great value golf packages or let us tailor one to your specific requirements.
